Jawdropped, the rising band from Los Angeles, have signed to Transgressive Records / Canvasback. Alongside the signing announcement, the band has shared a new single “Monday,” a fuzzy and catchy blast of power pop paired with a one-shot video directed by Rob Fraebel.
"Monday is about treading the waters of anticipation, but deciding to face your feelings head on,” says the band. “The truth will set you free, even if it’s just the Sunday scaries."
Since forming in 2024, Jawdropped have already supported Real Estate, Bully, Greg Freeman and Momma and this spring the band will be playing their first ever UK headline shows and festivals, including Great Escape, Dot to Dot and more. All dates below.
Last year the band released Just Fantasy, their debut EP, which garnered attention from Stereogum, who praised their “upbeat anthems packed with tounge-in-cheek cynycism,” and FLOOD who hailed their “breezy pop-rock sound.”
Jawdropped’s distinct take on grungy power pop is earnest and immediate, sung with a smirk on their face and fingers crossed behind their back. Anchored by friendship and a commitment to sing-along rock, it channels the hook-laden hits of Oasis and the amplified energy of The Lemonheads and Swearin’.
Jawdropped is Kyra Morling, Roman Zangari, Sean Edwards and Cook Lee-Chobanian.
